When did gadgets become synonymous with boys toys?
It greatly irks me when people - well qualified highly educated - behave like illiterate imbeciles trying to prove that technology and anything related to that is a man's domain and a man's domain alone.
Shouldn't education help to overcome such prejudices, if any, inculcated in individuals by our society and value system? Don't people who go for higher education have enough equally well qualified and competent (if not more) women study/work with them to prove otherwise?
Don't most men see enough career-minded tech savvy women around to help them break-free from the misconception?
People have tech-savvy career-minded gf/wife, rather would prefer them to be that way, still like to believe that gadgets are boys toys?
I wonder why?? The only explanation that I can conjure is that its convenient! Its convenient to believe that women are handicapped when it comes to technology. It boosts their ego to know and feel that women need them to explain simple terms like www to them. A man's ego must be such a strange thing if it needs such silly assurances!
