Govindam's

A and I went to this eating joint at the ISKCON temple called Govindam's at East of Kailash. We've gone to the one by the same name in Noida. The noida one is in a small room but has lovely food. The one at east of kailash was, simply put, Awesome!
Govinda's is known for serving buffet of indian dishes.

This Sunday they had a special satvik bhojan buffet dinner. The variety offered was overwhelming. There were different kinds of salads, pakodis, papad, dahi, raita for starters. Had about 5-6 kinds of cool drinks. Then the main course had lots of veggies, 5 kinds of rice dishes, sambhar, kadhi, daal-baati and churma. For breads they had three varieties. And then the best course of the meal... the desserts... they offered some 7-8 kinds of desserts ranging from custard, kheer, gulabjamun...and many more. The buffet had north indian specialities, rajasthani food, gujrati delicacies and south indian dishes too.

The food was cooked in less oil, was moderately spicy and was tasty. Priced at Rs 300 per plate I'd say it was a great meal, good value for money.

They have another similar event running from 10th -13th of August on account of Janmashtmi. I will try and go there to enjoy the buffet around that time. Let me know if you would like to come along! :-)
